Winston Preparatory School, the innovative day school for students in the 4th through 12th grade with learning differences such as dyslexia, nonverbal learning disabilities, and executive functioning difficulties, held its Annual Spring Benefit on March 12, 2016 where all four campuses- New York City, Norwalk CT, Whippany, NJ, and Transitions, came together to Celebrate Winston Prep ~ Where Understanding Begins. It was school’s largest event ever with over 525 people gathered at Cipriani 42nd Street NYC in support of Winston.
Executive Director, Scott Bezsylko, welcomed the enthusiastic crowd and spoke about the accomplishments the Winston community has made together and the school’s continued efforts, through a multi-year Science of Learning Campaign, to shape the way children learn, and ultimately, to broaden society’s awareness of what it really means to develop specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of each student every day. Kenzo Repola, a 2016 Winston graduate, moved the audience as he reflected on his time at Winston, the impact the school had on his educational journey and his bright future ahead.
Winston welcomed back Sebastian Clarke of Rago Auctions & PBS Antiques Roadshow as the event’s Auctioneer. Guests were moved by a film of students and faculty talking about the impact of Winston’s researched based education.
The Suzanne Lorie Band entertained guests throughout the night and got everyone on the dance floor after the program concluded. Winston’s talented student musicians, the NY Session and The CT Strings performed to rousing cheers.
An overwhelming number of families and local businesses contributed to the benefit and Winston is deeply appreciative of everyone's support.
