It's Festival Season in Colorado Ski Country

Blue sky days, crisp nights and majestic mountains are the backdrop of the summer festival season in Colorado Ski Country. Here are a few of our favorites at mountain towns across the state: Known as the wildflower capital of Colorado, Crested Butte hosts the Everything Wildflower Festival July 6-15, featuring guided hikes, garden tours and photography workshops.

The 37th annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Art in The Park Weekend in Steamboat Springs offers colorful artistry in the air and on canvas Saturday and Sunday July 14th and 15th at Bald Eagle Lake.

Jazz lovers can enjoy a weekend of live music and entertainment at the Winter Park Jazz Festival July 21st and 22nd. The forests around Purgatory Resort are known for their abundance of wild mushrooms. Head down to Durango August 10th and11th to join in the hunt at the Mushroom and Wine Festival. Copper Mountain hosts 2 very unique gatherings in August. On August 17th-19th stomp grapes at the Copper Crush wine festival and savor cider, wine tasting and family events the following weekend at the Cider Circus. Music in the mountains is Aspen/Snowmass' summer signature. Aspen Music Festival is on all summer long with nearly 300 events. Activities are happening day and night, indoors and out. Purchase a bargain pass good for the entire season's’ events. And then there’s Telluride, the town with almost too many festivals to count. The 11th annual Telluride Yoga Festival is a 4 day immersion event, July 19th -22nd, featuring an exciting lineup of yoga classes and speakers designed to open your mind and body. To end the season, Labor Day weekend is the prestigious Telluride Film Festival, bringing together film lovers and industry insiders beneath the breathtaking backdrop of the San Juan mountains.
