October 19, 2018

It's official. South Williamsburg is fast becoming a food lovers paradise. From pasta to pizza to upscale delis and back again, foodies looking for their next hit need to venture no further than the Domino development, which has seen a slew of new restaurant opening since Domino Park’s official opening along the waterfront in June.

South Williamsburg has always had a smorgasbord of new exciting new restaurants, bars and cafes, making it one of the toprestaurant hubs in NYC. In a city where new dining options seem to open and close faster than revolving restaurant doors, this neighborhood has established itself as a dining force to be reckoned with. Despite the looming L Train shutdown, myriad restaurants with some of New York’s top chefs and serious restaurant players opening Brooklyn outposts. The culinary-inclined can take their pick from stylish home cooking leader, pasta pro and James Beard Award winner Missy Robbins to Union Square Hospitality Restaurateur and New York icon Danny Meyer or soon, the ultimate King of casual Italian fare, Carlo Mirachi.

The flavor profiles just north of the bridge are endless. Savor fresh fettuccine, munch on a delectable roast beef sandwich, or sip on a margherita while overlooking the East River. These are a few of our favorite local taco spots, bistros and neighborhood joints worth trying this Fall:

Misi – From the female Chef extraordinaire who created Lilia in Williamsburg, Misi serves homemade pasta and vegetable antipasti that focus on simplicity, highlighting flavorful ingredients that reference traditions from regions throughout Italy.

Mekelburg’s – Opening at the base of 325 Kent, the first residential building opened part of Domino’s redevelopment, Mekelburg’s is a specialty food grocer that is already a Brooklyn favorite based on it’s Clinton Hill location.

Tacocina – The Danny Meyer creation serves tacos alongside Mexican beers and margaritas at the center of Domino Park with views of the Manhattan skyline.
Roberta’s – The iconic Brooklyn-based, restaurant and wood-fired pizzeria, is slated to open in 2019 in 260 Kent, a Two Trees property currently under construction.
